Position Summary: We are currently looking to hire an engaged and passionate Project Manager. As a member of our Project Management team, you will have the opportunity to take on leadership positions at new and existing implementations to deliver world class solutions to our clients. The project manager has the qualifications and business acumen to manage large scale, high risk, strategic projects that span organizational boundaries including multiple business units. They provide leadership to cross-functional teams responsible for delivering defined project outputs to time, budget, and project quality criteria. Our Project Manager also ensures adherence to project management methodology practices, provides project manager mentoring, performs Project Reviews and reinforces the enterprise knowledge management through the communication of lessons learned and best practices development.
Optima Project Management professionals perform an array of project related activities, including:
Managing Customer Expectations and Satisfaction:
Responsible for the overall success of projects, including customer satisfaction.
Handle customer’s solution delivery, escalations, and change requests.
Project Financial and Scope Management:
Assume P&L responsibility to ensure scope is managed, change orders are tracked, quoted, approved, and that the client is informed at all times.
Review Statements of Work (SOW), effort estimates, and project plans to manage the financial health of the project.
Support the invoicing process.
Project Execution and Control:
Effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines, quality, and productivity within a delivery approach.
Utilize project management applications to build out project timelines, make assignments, track projects, and demonstrate project control to clients.
Actively communicate project status and priorities with project sponsors.
Take bottom-line responsibility for the execution of the project, including managing timelines and leading multiple teams across different time zones/locations.
Agile Project Management and Methodologies:
Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to ensure continuous improvement and team alignment.
Adopt an iterative approach to project management, allowing for rapid response to change and ongoing stakeholder feedback.
Coach teams in Agile practices and principles to foster a culture of transparency, adaptability, and innovation.
Position Requirements: Project Management and Agile Expertise: 4 - 6 years of experience in project management, including Agile methodologies, with a strong focus on leading global teams and delivering projects across multiple geographies. SAP and/or OpenText Project Leadership: 3 - 5 years managing SAP ERP projects, especially in SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA implementations and conversions, with a deep understanding of business functions like Supply Chain Management, Procure-to-Pay, and Order to Cash. Experience managing OpenText and/or SAP Ariba projects is a plus Leadership and Technical Tools: At least 4 years supervisory experience, overseeing project teams, and proficient use of project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, ASANA), including Agile tools. SAP S/4 HANA Projects: Involvement in at least two end-to-end SAP S/4 HANA project lifecycles, demonstrating thorough implementation or conversion knowledge. Budget Management and Communication: Proven ability to manage budgets within project constraints and excellent English communication skills, fostering effective collaboration in fast-paced settings. 5+ years of Solutions/Applications delivery experience
Experience with SDLC or Product development.
Experience with Ariba implementations
OpenText Project Management Experience
Education and Training
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering, Information Technologies or related field.
PMP Certificate, equivalent certification, or equivalent experience required.
Agile or scrum certification is a plus.
SAP Activate Certification is a plus.
Master’s Degree is a plus.

Location:
This is a remote position based out of the US or Mexico. Optima reserves the right to change the working environment to hybrid or onsite at any time.
Mexico based candidates should have a valid US Visa and expect traveling to be up to 35%.

Compensation structure:
Base salary plus eligibility for Optima’s Profit-Sharing Bonus Plan once it’s activated.
